Silver State Schools Credit Union Adds e-Checking Account Type
Silver State Schools Credit Union has been serving its members strongly as a Las Vegas bank since 1951. The history of Silver State Schools CU is of great customer service. Minor changes have accrued over the years to slowly build up the credit union to what it is today. Today, there are a couple new things in effect regarding checking accounts. There are now two different kinds of checking accounts: a regular checking account and an e-Checking account.
Regular Silver State Schools Credit Union Checking Account
The regular checking account will remain free to those who meet the following criteria:
- 60 years of age or older, OR
- Younger than 18 years of age, OR
- Maintain a minimum balance of $5,000 in checking at all times, OR
- Have aggregate deposit and loan balances totaling $20,000 or more
Those members who do not meet these requirements will be charged a $5.00 monthly maintenance fee. Those members who convert to an e-Checking account do not have to pay this fee.
e-Checking Account at State Schools Credit Union
The new e-Checking account is currently available to all members. There is no monthly maintenance fee associated with this acount because all transactions are done online.
Fees are only accumulated if a member does the following:
- Write a paper check
- Perform certain checking functions in-branch or via our Call Center (phone). These include inquiries, deposits, withdrawals, cashing services.
- Revert to receiving paper statements. (As a requirement of an e-Checking account a member must opt in to receive electronic account statements, i.e. e-Statements).
